The NZ Area Election Committee is the 2025 appointed NZ affiliate of the World Zionist Organisation (WZO)

- Election Dates: 15 June – 30 June 2025
ELECTIONS TO THE 39TH WORLD ZIONIST CONGRESS
This election gives Jews around the world a chance to influence Israel’s governance and represents the single biggest opportunity for NZ Jews to influence the future of our people for the better.
Following approved registration, you will be entitled to vote in the NZ elections to the World Zionist Congress between in 15–30 June 2025.
The NZ Area Election Committee is the 2025 appointed NZ affiliate of the World Zionist Organisation (WZO). The election process is overseen by the NZ Area Election committee, Rabbi Moshe Rube (Chair), Dr Michelle Wise & Mike Silverman. The Electoral Return Officer is Darya Bing.
The Area Election Committee works according to the election rules as set by the WZO and is in constant communication with WZO representatives to make sure the election is run according to WZO standards
Election Timeline:
- Campaign starts 28 April ending 30 May
- Voting Registry opens 28 April and closes 30 May
- Voting Registry verification by AEC/elections officer - 1 June to 14 June.
- Voting opens on 15 June and ends at 5pm 30 June
Who Can Vote?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be Jewish
- Be 18+ years old on 30 June 2025
- Confirm your commitment to the
Jerusalem Program
- Permanently reside in New Zealand
- Not have voted in the Israeli Knesset election (1 Nov 2022) or in the 39th WZC elections in another country.
How to Register & Vote
Voter registration will be open from 21 April until 30 May 2025.
A registration fee of $3 will apply. This is known as the Zionist Shekel.
